The authors refer to other studies and are sepcialized doctors themselves. They were published by the Eastern Group Psycotherapy Society. The article is simply to explain a study of senior and mental health. The information contains both fact and opinion.

The article's purpose was to "connect active living research to policy solution." Researchers tested the assumption of recreation facilities serving communities better by comparing the use of renovated facilities, including a senior center.
