2026 FTC Iowa Championship

Information about the FTC Iowa Championship, Presented by RTX.
This event is a multi-day tournament. 

Guest entrance: Main doors at intersection of E. 2nd Ave & E. 9th Street.

Team Pre-Event Call

Save the date: Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026 at 6pm for a team call.

Information will be sent to those teams who qualify.

Cost

Competing Teams: $350

Spectators: Free

Spectators will only be able to access the pits, seating area and concourse. Spectators, including parents, will not be able to go into the judging area nor the competition fields.

Credentials will need to be displayed to access the competition floor.

Other information about the Arena:

Outside food and drink is not allowed in the Arena, this applies to the teams and students.

Attendees and spectators can bring in empty reusable water bottles and refill them in the arena.

Concessions will be open throughout the concourse (concessions are cashless).

Teams will need to unload in the loading dock.

Competing teams need to prepare for an 10'x10' pit area, with a 6' table and one chair.

What's the agenda of the FTC Iowa Championship?

Will teams have scheduled judging times?

Yes. With this large of a tournament, we needed to schedule judging interview times.

Each team will have 15 minutes with the judge panel.

Judging will be taking place in the GreenState Family FieldHouse.

Robot & Field Inspections will need to be completed by 5:30pm on Friday.

Teams qualified through the league tournaments.

How many teams will be advancing from the Iowa Championship?

Iowa received four allocations to the FIRST Championship in Houston, Texas. The 2026 allocations will be determined by Jan. 1, 2026.

Iowa received six allocations to the FIRST Premier Events. The 2026 allocations will be determined by Jan. 1, 2026.

Invitations to these events will be sent from FIRST to Coach 1 & Coach 2 of the team.

How many practice fields will there be?

The plan is to have six practice fields. However, we will need teams to supply the practice fields, including the perimeter, tiles and field elements. There is a sign up sheet for teams to bring equipment.

FTC Iowa Championship Schedule

Friday - pits open, hardware inspections, field inspections, judging, driver/coaches meeting and a round of matches.

All teams must check in between 12:00pm-12:30pm

Team Interviews will be scheduled.

Inspections (robot and field) will not be scheduled, but all inspections MUST be done by 5:30pm

Driver & Coaches meeting will begin at 6:00pm

We will be doing one round of matches immediately following the Driver & Coaches meeting.

Pits will be closing at 8:30pm.

Team Entertainment will begin at 8:15pm

Saturday - opening ceremony, qualification matches, alliance selection, elimination matches, and closing/award ceremony.

Teams will need to plan to arrive between 7:00am-8:00am and notify the Pit Admin of your arrival.
