How Katy Perry Reportedly Feels About Dating After
The summer of 2025 has seen Katy Perry split from her partner of over nine years, Orlando Bloom, in June and go on a much-discussed date with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in July.
Perry is also raising nearly 5-year-old daughter Daisy Dove (who turns 5 on August 26) and is on tour until the end of the year.
As for dating? It doesn’t seem Perry is into it—at least for now.
It has been a big summer for Katy Perry: her ongoing Lifetimes tour. Her split from Orlando Bloom after nine years together—six of them engaged. Her daughter Daisy Dove’s upcoming fifth birthday on August 26. A much-publicized date in Canada with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Yeah, so, what about that date with Trudeau? Apparently not much, as a source told People that Perry “isn’t looking to date right now” after her split from Bloom, which was confirmed in June.

Perry has enough going on, quite frankly. Her Lifetimes tour is scheduled to run until December, and her daughter will always take priority.
“She’s still in the middle of a tour,” the insider said. “She’s a single mom and navigating some major personal changes.”

On July 3, Perry and Bloom released a joint statement emphasizing that their priority is their daughter, saying, “Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting.”
“They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is—and always will be—raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect,” the statement continued.
“Katy has every intention of maintaining a positive and respectful relationship with Orlando,” a source told People at the time. “He’s the father of their daughter and that will always come first for her.”

“They’ve been through a lot together, and while they’ve decided to go their separate ways, there’s still a mutual respect between them,” the insider added. “They’re still very much in touch and co-parenting Daisy together. For the sake of their daughter, they’re committed to keeping things amicable.”
Last month, Perry and Trudeau grabbed dinner at Le Violon on July 28; two days later, he attended the Montreal stop of her tour. Though the two have “plenty to talk about,” a source told People, they have “no current plans” to see each other again after their July hangout, though it was a “fantastic evening,” a representative for Le Violon told the outlet.

Though Perry and Trudeau have “stayed in touch,” a source said, “They had a casual first get-to-know-you date. And although they have shared interests and plenty to talk about, dating just isn’t on her radar.”
That said, the two had an “instant connection,” a source told the publication: “They are interested in each other, but it will take a while to see where this goes,” a source said. “She is traveling around the world, and he is figuring out his life now that he is no longer prime minister of Canada, but there is an attraction. They have a lot in common.”
