欧博百家乐Bought Chocolate Chip Doughs, and the Best Wa

As a food writer, I rarely pick favorites when it comes to the dishes and desserts that I’ll eat time and time again. That is, except for chocolate chip cookies. It doesn’t matter what day it is, the season, or who’s around—if this buttery baked good is on the menu, I’m always going to order it.

While I usually stick to my own recipe when baking them at home, there are moments when I’m short on time or craving a cozy night in, and store-bought dough gets the job done. For years, I’ve stuck with Pillsbury, the nostalgic take-and-bake hero of my childhood. But after seeing all the different brands on the shelves these days, I decided it was time to try something new. So, on a quiet weekend, I set out to taste test a bunch of options. Below, you’ll find my subjective ranking of which ones deserve a spot in your fridge.

How I Chose the Chocolate Chip Cookie Doughs

When compiling this list of chocolate chip cookie doughs, I wanted to make sure they were all easy to find. That’s why I’ve only included brands you can pick up at major retailers like Walmart, Target, and other popular grocery stores. I also chose ones that people can’t stop talking about on TikTok and Instagram, like Miss Jones Baking Co. and Sweet Loren’s. They had to be refrigerated options (not shelf-stable mixes) and, of course, packed with plenty of chocolate.

How I Tested the Chocolate Chip Cookie Doughs

To keep everything consistent, I followed the suggested baking instructions on the back of each package. After taking the cookies out of the oven, I let them cool for at least five minutes so they could firm up a bit. I then tasted each cookie twice, sipping milk between bites to cleanse my palate. I focused on four key characteristics: caramelized edges, a soft center, even chocolate chip distribution, and a rich, buttery flavor.

There’s a lot to love about Sweet Loren’s, starting with the fact that this dough is gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and free from major allergens. Each pack of take-and-bake chocolate chip cookies contains 12 individually sliced servings, so you can easily bake an entire dozen, or just a few at a time.

When you bake them, you’ll end up with cookies that taste, look, and smell like the real deal despite the nontraditional ingredients. While they might not be as buttery as Pillsbury’s or as homemade-tasting as Miss Jones’ chocolate chip cookie dough, they still have great qualities, like being soft and chewy.

If Sweet Loren’s had more chocolate chips mixed in and a richer buttery flavor, I could definitely see myself ranking its cookies higher on the list.

4th Place: Nestlé Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

Nestlé Toll House cookies are a classic choice. They look great, with crispy edges, a soft center, and plenty of chocolate chips. However, there’s one downside: they have a slight artificial flavor. You might not notice it unless you compare them to other brands, but it’s worth mentioning.

So, if you’re on the hunt for a cookie that truly tastes homemade, you might want to try a different brand (or just try to recreate the recipe at home!) But if that’s not a dealbreaker, these cookies are popular for a reason—they’ll still give you a tender, chocolatey treat for sure.

3rd Place: Pillsbury Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

There’s a certain nostalgia with Pillsbury’s chocolate chip cookie dough because it’s such a reliable brand that helps you bake delicious desserts at home—often in under 10 minutes.

So, when I baked a batch of this dough, I knew exactly what to expect. The outer edges turned golden brown, while the center stayed soft and molten. It’s packed with melty chocolate chips, adding plenty of sweetness to the buttery cookie. Overall, it’s a classic for a reason.

2nd Place: Miss Jones Baking Co. Gluten-Free Monster Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

If you’re searching for a rustic, can-pass-for-homemade chocolate chip cookie, you’ll definitely want to grab a pack from Miss Jones Baking Co. If you gave me one of these baked delights and told me it was store-bought and gluten-free, I wouldn’t believe you—they’re that scrumptious.

Made with plenty of oats and chocolate, these cookies have a slightly nutty flavor and a rich brown butter taste that’ll keep you coming back for more. Each bite is packed with chocolate, with a chewy, soft center and a nice, caramelized crunch around the edges. As a bonus, they only take about nine minutes to bake.

Walmart might not be the first place I’d think to grab cookie dough, but after trying its chocolate chip cookie dough, it’s now at the top of my list.

Each pouch contains 24 pre-sliced pieces of dough, and in under 10 minutes, I had a batch of chocolate chip cookies ready to go. They came out with those dreamy caramelized edges and a soft, gooey center. The real standout though? The generous amount of chocolate chips gave each bite a rich, sweet burst that complemented the buttery cookie nicely.

I’m definitely keeping a packet of these sweet, take-and-bake treats in my fridge from now on. I could even see myself using these cookies as the base for an ice cream sandwich—they have the perfect balance of softness and sturdiness, so they’d hold up really well.
