Tennis legend Venus Williams just served up some major news — she's engaged to actor Andrea Preti.
The multi-Grand Slam champion confirmed her engagement after months of rumors during a post-match interview in July 2025.
"My fiancé is here, and he really encouraged me to keep playing," Williams, who was first linked to Preti in July 2024, said. "He’s never seen me play."
As part of one of the most famous sibling duos in sports history alongside her sister, Serena, Williams has spent much of her life in the public eye. However, she has been largely private about her romantic life.
Williams previously dated model Elio Pis in 2012 and Nicholas Hammond in 2017 before finding her perfect match in Preti.

Preti was born in 1988 in Denmark and spent most of his childhood there before moving to Italy with his family as a teenager. In May 2024, he shared photos from a trip to Copenhagen on Instagram and wrote that he was back in his "homeland."
"No one can understand how much I missed you Chris," he captioned the post, which included a photo with his brother. "And how much I miss being here."
Preti added, "Best time ever ❤️🙏🏻."
He is an actor and producer

While he spent many years as a model, Preti has since built a career for himself as both an actor and producer. After studying acting at the Susan Batson Academy in New York City, per his IMDb bio, Preti landed roles in television, film and commercials.

Williams and Preti were first linked in July 2024, when they were spotted boating together in Nerano, Italy, along the Amalfi Coast.
Since then, the pair have remained mostly private about their relationship, though they were seen together again in January 2025. That same month, Williams posted a selfie of her and Preti vacationing in the Bahamas on her Instagram Stories, calling her now-fiancé "the best company."

Williams and Preti first sparked engagement rumors in February 2025 when the tennis star was spotted wearing a diamond ring in Rome. Weeks later, she donned the sparkler at the Dsquared2 Fall/Winter 2025 fashion show at Milan Fashion Week.
Williams confirmed that Preti is her fiancé six months later, following a tennis match in Washington, D.C.
"You are now an engaged woman. So, how has Andrea helped you in this comeback? You’re happy, a smile on your face. I mean, how much has he made a difference in your life?" Grand Slam winner Rennae Stubbs asked Williams in a post-match interview.
She replied, "There were so many times where I just wanted to coast and kind of chill. Do you know how hard it is to play tennis? He encouraged me to get through this, and it’s wonderful to be here."
Prep for their upcoming wedding is well underway, and Williams' sister Serena confirmed that her bachelorette party already took place during an August 2025 appearance on Today. Still, Serena added that the sisters are still "planning lots of different parties and events.”
“It’s actually overwhelming, and I told Venus yesterday, ‘One more thing that you want me to do and I’m done. That’s it,’ “ she said.
