Welcome to the new RACER.com

You might have noticed that things look a little different around here.

Different, and we believe, better. Much better. Over the last two months we’ve introduced the first phases of RACER’s new era starting with the acquisition of MAVTV, which is in the process of rebranding to RACER Network. That was followed by a relaunch of RACER magazine, which remains our flagship. And now it’s RACER.com’s turn.

All of the great motorsport coverage that has made RACER the voice of American motorsport for over 30 years is still here, and you don’t need us to point out the main visual updates. Some of the other refinements are less immediately obvious, but still impactful. For example, one of RACER magazine’s defining qualities is its outstanding photography, and in that vein, the version of RACER.com that you’re reading now is better equipped than its predecessor to display images in the way our world-class photographers intended.

Every year, Formula 1 teams roll out a new car and then introduce upgrades throughout the season, and the new RACER.com is no different. The rollout version you see today already contains all of the features and functionality of the old site, presented in a cleaner and more intuitive way. But we already have our first couple of update packages in the works, which you will see come to life in the coming months.

In some cases that will mean expanding the portfolio of championships that we cover – fans of off-road racing will already have noticed a significant coverage bump this year. In others, it will mean venturing into racing-adjacent areas that we’ve not explored previously, such as performance, road cars, car culture and the collecting scene. And none of it will come at the cost of what we’re doing now. We’re proud to be the only independent publication in the world that sends writers to every F1, IndyCar, NASCAR, IMSA and FIA WEC event, and we intend to make the most of it.

And for our friends overseas, particularly in the UK and Europe, the new site unlocks a lot of features that were firewalled off in the previous one. We hope you enjoy them.

We’re excited about what’s ahead, and we’re excited to be bringing you along with us. At the end of the day, everything we do is for you – our readers – and we’ll continue to look for new ways to bring you inside the sport that we all love.

Anyway, enough talk. Time to drop the visor.
