Kate Winslet is sharing her candid thoughts on plastic surgery.

In an interview with the Sunday Times published on Saturday, Dec 6, the 50-year-old actress didn't hold back when it came to a discussion about cosmetic enhancements. Winslet shared that she was frustrated not only by celebrities who alter their appearance, but everyday "people who save up for Botox or the shit they put in their lips."

The Oscar winner claimed that her face "hasn't got anything in it," meaning injectables like Botox and filler.

“My favorite thing is when your hands get old,” Winslet added. “That’s life, in your hands. Some of the most beautiful women I know are over 70 and what upsets me is that young women have no concept of what being beautiful actually is.”

The actress called out her Goodbye June costars Helen Mirren, Toni Collette and Andrea Riseborough, as well her Avatar costar Sigourney Weaver who have also rejected Hollywood's plastic surgery pressures.

"We have to keep being real," Winslet said.

The star also railed against the rising trend of weight loss drugs like GLP-1's.

“It is devastating,” she shared. “If a person’s self-esteem is so bound up in how they look, it’s frightening.”

Winslet continued, “And it’s puzzling because I have moments when I think it’s better, when I look at actresses at events dressed how they want, whichever shape. But then so many people are on weight-loss drugs. It’s so varied. Some are making choices to be themselves, others do everything they can to not be themselves.”

“And do they know what they are putting in [their bodies]? The disregard for one’s health is terrifying. It bothers me now more than ever. It is f------ chaos out there,” she added.

Winslet also recalled receiving scrutiny for her appearance early in her career. The actress quickly rose to fame at the age of 19 after starring in 1997’s Titanic.

“The media was vile, singling me out for relentless bullying,” she told the Sunday Times. “I wasn’t ready to be a famous actress. I was so young, but I felt so invaded.”

During a 2022 appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Winslet said she wishes she would have responded differently to critics.

She said: "If I could turn back the clock, I would have used my voice in a completely different way … I would have said to journalists, I would have responded, I would have said, 'Don't you dare treat me like this. I'm a young woman, my body is changing, I'm figuring it out, I'm deeply insecure, I'm terrified, don't make this any harder than it already is.' That's bullying, you know, and actually borderline abusive, I would say."

Winslet has previously spoken out against plastic surgery.

"It goes against my morals, the way that my parents brought me up, and what I consider to be natural beauty. I will never give in," she told The Telegraph in August 2011. "I am an actress; I don't want to freeze the expression of my face."
