欧博百家乐The Shore Painting by Jim Carroll
The majority of my adult life has been spent in the consulting business around Washington DC. I retired in 2014. During 2004 and 2005 I had the opportunity to live in Geneva Switzerland and to travel in Europe, Africa, Russia, and Southeast Asia. Earlier, in my 20s, I served as a Merchant Marine officer and saw a good deal of the world then too, but in a very different way. My goal is that each of my paintings be vibrant yet have subtleties that tease the viewer with color, the use of geometry, and the inference of depth and image. I want my work to provide immediate pleasure in the viewing ... plus enjoyment in the interpretation. Since retiring I paint most days and very much enjoy experimenting with the use of different mediums and surfaces. Of late I have become particularly interested in back-painted glass. I’m drawn to sensual and luxurious use of color and toward subtlety in the images and composition the eye sees. I paint both with acrylics and oils because each medium, in its own way, offers opportunities to create images that are rich, interesting and slightly ambiguous. The unpredictability of drip painting is fascinating in combination with the vibrant color of acrylics. But so is the richness, subtle texture and blending ability of oils.
